Ordinarily, we like to take weekends off to recharge the ‘ol batteries, drink a few cocktails, catch up on our missed sunshine and commiserate with the outside world. But since this exchange is so friggin’ funny, we just had to show you the video goodness that is Miss Teen South Carolina attempting to answer the question: “Recent polls show that 1/5 of Americans can’t identify the United States on a map. Why do you think this is?”

The morning after Jose Reyes stole his 70th base of the season…
Conor Jackson played a vital role in Arizona’s win; the White Sox gave up another 10+ runs against the Red Sox; the Brewers continued to pull an “el foldo” and the Yanks still trailed the wild card-leading Seattle Mariners by 2 1/2 games and hold a three-game edge over Detroit in the AL wild card race.
Boston 14, White Sox 2 — Tim Wakefield joined teammate Josh Beckett as the only 16-game winners in the major leagues in a 14-2 romp over the White Sox.
Yankees 7, Tigers 2 — New York’s Johnny Damon was 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run and two RBIs and Bobby Abreu was 2-for-3, scored once and stole three bases in the 7-2 win over Detroit.
Indians 9, Royals 4 — Cleveland’s Aaron Laffey got 14 groundball outs in six innings and Grady Sizemore and Victor Martinez homered to help Cleveland beat the Royals 9-4 in KC’s Kaufmann Stadium.
M’s 3, Rangers 5 — Ian Kinsler hit a three-run homer, and the Texas Rangers took advantage of two Adrian Beltre errors to beat the Seattle Mariners 5-3.
BlueJays 9, Angels 2 – A four-run ninth inning, highlighted by Troy Glaus’ two-run home run, helped seal the deal for the visiting BlueJays in their 9-2 trouncing of the Los Angeles Angels of Los Angeles of Anaheim.
