The Washington Post’s Amy Shipley is reporting that track star Marion Jones is admitting that she used steroids while preparing for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

Bears’ Briggs pleads guilty to leaving crash scene (AP/ESPN)

Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs will be under court supervision for a year and must pay $485 in fines aftert pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.

If you may recall, Briggs crashed his Lamborghini on a Chicago-area highway on Aug. 27 and failed to report the accident in a timely manner.

A Cook County judge also ordered the linebacker to serve 15 days of community service for his transgressions.

Izod lands naming rights for NBA’s Nets arena

Izod wins fashionista battle to name Nets’ arena (AP/ESPN)

Clothing maker Izod was awarded naming rights to Continental Airlines Arena by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority on Thursday.

Two other clothing companies — Rocawear and Southpole — bid to have their name on the arena.

The Ottawa Senators locked up wing Dany Heatley to a six-year, $45 million extension Wednesday, beating a self-imposed deadline of the club’s season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
