The morning after Notre Dame finally wins a game…really

(9) Florida 24, (1) LSU 28 — The Gators led most of this contest, but the Tigers barely converted a pair of fourth-down runs on their final drive before Jacob Hester bulldozed his way from the 2-yard line with a little over a minute remaining to complete a stunning comeback that gave LSU a 28-24 victory over the No. 9 Gators. Now for some analysis…

Stanford 24, (2) USC 23 — The Stanford Cardinal snapped USC’s 35-game home win streak in stunning fashion after Wopamo Osaisai intercepted a John David Booty pass, setting up Stanford’s go-ahead TD with :39 remaining to give the Cardinal a huge win over their Pac 10 rival Trojans.

(4) Ohio State 21, (23) Purdue 7 — The fourth-ranked Buckeyes shut down one of the nation’s highest-scoring teams in a 23-7 win over No. 23 Purdue. The Boilermakers ran for just 4 yards on 17 attempts during the contest.

(5) Wisconsin 26, Illinois 31 –  Illinois’ Rashard Mendenhall ran for 160 yards and two touchdowns and the Fighting Illini celebrated its first 3-0 start in the Big 11 Ten.

(25) Nebraska 6, (17) Missouri 41 — Get familiar with the name Chase Daniel: Daniel passed for a career-best 401 yards and ran for two scores and No. 17 Missouri got a big game as they rolled over nemesis Nebraska 41-6 at Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri.

…and finally…

Notre Dame 20, UCLA 6 — Notre Dame got its first win of the season, knocking off UCLA in Pasadena 20-6.  Jimmy Clausen passed for a whopping 84 yards and managed a rushing score to give the Irish the lead for good, 20-6.
