The morning after, 11.19.07: NFL scoreboard
19 11 2007The morning after Terrell Owens goes wild in the Dallas win over rival Washington…
Cardinals 35, Bengals 27 — It was the Antrel Rolle show as Arizona’s cornerback snagged three touchdowns — two for touchdown returns of 55 and 54 yards — to help lead the visiting Cardinals to the spiraling Bengals, 35-27.
Chiefs 10, Colts 13 — The Chiefs, with second-year quarterback Brady Croyle at the helm, stayed even with the Colts for most of the game but fell just short, thanks to a field goal by Adam Vinatieri with four seconds left on the game clock and came up short 13-10 at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
Chargers 17, Jaguars 24 — David Garrard, fresh off an ankle injury, threw two touchdown passes and gave Jacksonville’s offense a big boost and helped the Jaguars beat the San Diego Chargers 24-17 in Jacksonville.
Browns 33, Ravens 30 (OT) — Phil Dawson: Master Magician. In order to get to overtime, the Browns had to rely on kicker Phil Dawson’s foot to nail a 51-yarder at the end of regulation to knot things up. Dawson managed to hit the left upright, bounce on the crossbar that sits behind the front crossbar and into the endzone that was initially called no-good. After both teams essentially thought the game was over, video replay showed that Dawson’s kick was true and the game headed to overtime, which saw the Ravens (nee Browns) come up short 33-30.
Check out the zaniness:
Patriots 56, Bills 10 — The Patriots scored on their first seven possessions (you read that right) and throttled the hometown Bills 56-10 at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Tom Brady was 31-of-39 for 373 yards with five TD passes, four to Moss, as New England became the 10th team since 1970 to start a season 10-0.
Meanwhile, in the En-Eff-Cee…
Raiders 22, Vikes 29 – No Adrian Peterson? No problem: back-up Chester Taylor had 202 total yards and three touchdowns in leading the Vikings over Daunte Culpepper and the Oakland Raid-uhs, 29-22 at the Metrodome.
Panthers 17, Packers 31 — Brett Favre continues to thrive for the youthful Packers, tossing
three touchdown passes to tie former Miami Dolphins signal caller Dan Marino atop the all-time list at 62, and knocked off visiting Carolina 31-17 to run the Pack’s record to 9-1.
Rams 13, Niners 9 – Did anyone want to win the match-up? Despite an opening drive by St. Louis that marched the Rams 79 yards in a little over four minutes to notch an early score, the Niners hung in till the game’s final minute where they came up short in a 13-9 loss to the Rams. The Niners run their touchdown-less streak to eight quarters in the loss.
‘Skins 23, ‘Boys 28 — Tony Romo-to-Terrell Owens occurred four times against the visiting Redskins, which proved to be enough in Dallas’ 28-23 victory over NFC Eastern division-rival Washington. Terrell Owens put up 173-yards receiving to go with his four touchdown performance.
