Bill Stewart promoted to WVU football coach (AP/Y! Sports)

Less than 12 hours after throttling the Oklahoma Sooners 48-28 in the Fiesta Bowl, West Virginia University has signed/promoted interim coach Bill Stewart to a five-year deal.

Stewart had been the associate head coach under Rich Rodriguez, who left for Michigan last month. Stewart then became the interim coach.
