Tiger Woods spoke out for the first time on the whole controversy surrounding comments made by The Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman.
“It was unfortunate,” Woods said. “Kelly and I did speak. There was no ill intent. She regrets saying it. In my eyes, it’s all said and done.”

“It was more media-driven than anything else…I tell them she’s a friend of mine, which she is,” Woods said. “I’ve known her for 10 or 11 years now. We all say things we do regret, and that’s certainly a moment she does regret.”
Woods spoke at the Tiger Woods Learning Center, where he announced a contest for children to talk about their first “fist-pump” moment.

The Associated Press is reporting the San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers underwent arthroscopic knee surgery a week ago in order to play in the AFC Championship Game.
“It wasn’t real extensive, but I mean, really that was the only way I would have had a chance to play by doing that on Monday,” he said. “I thought maybe I could come back in the Colts game but it was catching. That’s what we did on Monday to give me the chance to play on Sunday.”
As much crap as he’s taken for his attitude in recent weeks, that took quite a bit of balls to come out and compete.

The St. Louis Cardinals and catcher Yadier Molina have come to terms on a contract that will keep the backstop in St. Louis for four more seasons, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.
The deal avoids a potential arbitration hearing and buys out one year of free agency.
Molina, 25, had a solid year behind the plate, batting .275 with a .340 on-base percentage and a .368 slugging percentage and arguably should’ve locked up the Gold Glove for best defensive catcher.
