Folks –
We’re still on a temporary sabbatical, but we’ll be back — better than ever — hopefully by next week.
So hang in there and we’ll be delivering the “news” like you remember.

If you hadn’t noticed, we haven’t been around much lately and for that, we apologize for not bringing you all the latest and greatest from the wacky world of sports.
Life has gotten in the way of being able to do so on a regular basis and, unfortunately, it will be much the same for the foreseeable future.
If we were betting folks, we’d bet money that we won’t be around much for the next ten days as we’ll be enjoying a nice vacation on the beautiful shores of an island in the Pacific. We aim to be back — with some regularity — by the end of the first full week of March.
So as the great Jack Buck usually signed off, we’ll sign off the same: “For this time, till next time…g’night.”

Readers:
Over the past week, we’ve been wiped out by a rather nasty cold that has rendered us useless. In other words, we had no inclination whatsoever in sitting in front of a computer while hacking up a lung and feeling quite miserable.
We hope to be back to normal real soon and apologize for this place not being regularly updated.

The inevitable has hit: wrapping up Christmas shopping.
With the crush of the holidays upon us — and other things creeping up over the next two weeks — posting will be a bit sporadic as we countdown our march to New Year’s Day.
We hope you bear with us as things slow down a bit and we hope to reward you with the much promised, ballyhooed re-design coming your way.
We’ll see you when we see you!

All of us at The Buried Lead would like to wish our ten readers (growing daily!) a Happy Thanksgiving.
We hope the food is plentiful and the booze is held to a minimum on this great day of football, friends and family (not necessarily in that order).
While we’re at it, big changes are coming for in store for you, the reader. Details coming soon.
Enjoy the day!

We’re slowly things getting back into gear, but we’ve still got a few miles to go in getting this place back in gear.
Thanks to this computer “glitch,” our upcoming site upgrade has been pushed back for a bit longer. Hopefully, we’ll be able to retrieve some of the data and quickly be able to get things up and running for you.
Once we get more information, we’ll post pass it along your way.
Have a good weekend and we’ll see you Monday!

Folks –
Due to a technical issue with our laptop (i.e. not working at this time), TBL will not be updated much — if at all — over the next day at minimum.
We’re sorry for the problems and we’re working on the solution.
Thanks for your patience.

We thank you for your patience and we look forward to you continuing to read The Buried Lead.
***UPDATE at 12:30 AM ET***
We will be unable to update the blog until some point on Thursday morning. Until then, please be patient with us.

Due to a technical glitch, our site is having issues with its capabilities to load in the last three hours due to a sudden influx of traffic on something that was posted on Monday.
We assure are seven readers (yes, we’ve jumped today) that we’re working on a solution to this matter and we will update all of you once we have something more concrete to tell you.
Until then, be patient with those re-load times.

Well folks, we’re going to be away for some R&R over the next five days. We’ll do our best to have our usual morning stories for all six of you to peruse (’HTS’, ‘TMA’ and a perhaps a story or three) while you roll out of bed or kill time at the cubicle waiting for that first conference call of the day.
Since we have your attention: we’ll hopefully be making some changes over these next few days as well.
Our crack staff of techies will be updating/tweaking/adjusting things around here, like updating the site’s software and other goodies. We can’t make any promises other than to tell you the site may be down for a time or two along the way, so be patient as things progress forward.
With that, we leave you with a moment that sums up everything:

Some of you three folks may’ve noticed that in the the last three days, we’ve fixed the ability for visitors to register and post pithy comments to the information we pass along.
We’re no Hemingway when it comes to wordsmithing up a story and we’re quite positive that folks have something to say (c’mon, you have to have something to say on our Best of Nine stuff, don’t you?), so don’t hesitate to register and fire off a response to something that catches your eye.
Fire away kids!

From all of us at The Buried Lead, we’d like to wish everyone who stops by our little nape of the Internets a very Happy Independence Day. On this date 231 years ago (or the approximate age, within a decade, of actor Abe Vigoda), the great nation in which we live was founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by men with a vision and great courage.
Without the great men who signed those pieces of paper in downtown Philadelphia, we wouldn’t have had the chance to live with the great freedoms we take for granted to this day (it’s not every country in the world where you can rip on anyone and get away with it…within reason).
So on this Fourth of July, while grillin’ and chillin’ with a tasty beverage of your choice, be sure to not only raise a pint to our founding fathers, but to also raise one to those who have so gallantly protected our freedoms these 231 years, the American soldier. Keep them and their families in your thoughts as they protect freedoms for those who are struggling to survive and enjoy the same freedoms we have today in the U.S. of A.
With that, enjoy the Fourth and to paraphrase the great Jack Buck as Kirby Puckett rounded the bases on a walk-off dinger in Game Six of the 1991 World Series: …and we’ll see you tomorrow morning!
(For those who would like to utilize the freedoms we’re talking about and are having trouble commenting to stories we post, we’re working to fix that issue as soon as we can. If you’d like to post and can’t do so, feel free to drop us a line at help at theburiedlead dot com (blame the spammers for the phonetic-like spelling.)

Folks (the six of you…we’re growing every day!) –
It looks like we’ve fixed our issues with the blogging software and we’ll be up and running with great fervor from now till the next problem (which will likely be in five minutes).
Special thanks to poster cbehan of ThreePuttBogey.com for taking care of things on the programming side and our wonderful hosts, ICDSoft.com, for addressing our trouble tickets promptly and accurately.
See ya soon!

Due to technical issues beyond our control, The Buried Lead will temporarily be shut down. Our blogging software is acting a bit wonky and until that issue is addressed, we will have to sit on the bench waiting to play.
Sorry for the inconvienence this may cause.
